Climate action has never been more important. It is however a complex task to make the most climate-friendly choices when stakeholders, scientists or companies claim to have the best solutions, often contradicting each other or having different priorities.
This afternoon we will, together with experts, dive into the topic of organic food and how it affects the climate. The event is hosted in collaboration with the Danish academic trade union JA.
The organic label is known by all Danes and the market for organic produce is as popular as ever, reaching 12 percent of the total food sale in 2019. But organic food’s effect on the climate is still heavily debated and attitudes towards the benefits and disadvantages of organic produce are manyand often dependent on other issues such as animal welfare, use of pesticides, biodiversity, and land-use. Caring for the planet is not a black or white problem after all, and most of the time the best solution is a compromise.
If you want to know more about the topic or perhaps have your choices challenged or just confirmed, then attend this short afternoon debate on organic food and its effect on the climate.
